Compounded semaglutide, prescribed online

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It works on the gut-hormone signals that regulate appetite, which is why people describe food taking up less room in their day. StaveMD connects you with licensed U.S. providers who review your history and decide whether treatment is appropriate.

STEP 1 · randomized, double-blind trial

14.9%

Mean body-weight change at week 68

STEP 1 enrolled 1,961 adults without type 2 diabetes who had obesity or overweight plus a related condition. The average age was 46, and 74% were women. At week 68, participants assigned branded semaglutide 2.4 mg plus lifestyle intervention had lost 14.9% of body weight on average, compared with 2.4% with placebo plus lifestyle intervention. About 69% reached at least 10% weight loss, compared with 12% on placebo. These are group averages, not a personal forecast or StaveMD patient results; compounded medication is a different finished product. Individual results vary.

Common questions

Is compounded semaglutide the same as Ozempic or Wegovy?
No. Compounded semaglutide is a different finished product — not a generic, not a substitute, and not the same as the branded, FDA-approved drugs. Compounded medication is prepared by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy for an individual patient on a prescription. Your provider will discuss whether it is appropriate for you.
Do I need insurance?
No. StaveMD is cash-pay, which is why the price is the same whether or not you have coverage. There is no separate membership fee on top of your plan.
What does it cost?
Your first 4 weeks are $179 in all (charged only if you're prescribed), then $209 every 4 weeks. The price covers the provider review, your prescription and shipping, and it does not increase when your provider raises your dose.
What if a provider decides it isn't right for me?
Then no medication is ordered and you are refunded in full. A licensed provider makes that call after reviewing your intake — completing the eligibility check does not guarantee a prescription.
Can I transfer to StaveMD if I am already taking semaglutide or Ozempic / Wegovy?
Yes. StaveMD offers continuation of care for patients switching from another clinic or branded medication. A licensed clinician evaluates your prior dose history to continue maintenance care without forcing you to restart from week one.
How long does it take?
The eligibility check is a short set of questions. A licensed provider reviews every intake, and if treatment is appropriate your medication ships to your door.
